About MeMy name is Henry Halverstadt and I have always been interested in marine biology. Most recently, I've been extremely intrigued by sustainable fish farming and fishing. After reading a book called, Four Fish and watching a TED talk given by Dan Barber, a chef in Manhattan, New York. I think that it is critical that we need to focus on farming in the most sustainable way in order to improve both the fish farm industry and the world as a whole.
The organization I am apart of is called Sustainably Raised Fish Foundation, or SRFF for short. We strive to change the Aquaculture industry by taking donations and doing research on what could improve or what should stay the same. There are many ways we can help change the world and I hope you feel the same. |
Why? |
Fish farms have negatively affected both the environment and the fish themselves for many years. Environmental issues include pollution, chemical waste, farm waste and also require up to 3 pounds of wild fish per 1 pound of farmed meat.

What Can You do to Help? |
The easiest way to help is by not purchasing farmed fish products. Most products say whether they are wild caught or not, right on the the front of whatever package they come in. Also you could always ask at restaurants.
